This blog is a random collection of information, originally set up in support of my long-neglected quotations web site. I usually schedule a QotD posting and a video on a topic that interests me (usually a few months in advance — trying to be topical that early in the morning is for the birds). Other common blog topics include economics, history, libertarianism, military topics, woodworking, and other random things which happen to strike my fancy. Backup site is at http://quotulatiousness.blogspot.com/ (I’ll post updates there if there’s an extended problem on the main blog).
This is the second home for the blog, having started on the 10th of May, 2004 at http://www.bolditalic.com/quotulatiousness/, courtesy of my virtual landlord, Jon P. He’d decided to dabble in blogging, so he’d installed MovableType and started a blog, Blogulaciousness, to which this blog’s name was a backhanded tribute. Unfortunately, Jon decided to quit blogging after a few months, leaving me with a name that didn’t make as much sense as I’d hoped it would. The 2004-2009 archives are no longer online (except through archive.org or similar sites). I switched from MovableType at Jon’s site to my own WordPress site in July 2009 (the first week or so had items cross-posted at both sites).
Social Media
When the social media site formerly known as Twitter become less welcoming to those of us with anything other than hard-left beliefs, I set up accounts on Gab.com and on MeWe. I used to be active on Facebook, but I went down some sort of security rabbit hole early in 2020 and I no longer have access to my account.

Nicholas,
I thought I had an e-mail for you, but it didn’t come up in my search.
In lieu of that, here’s a link to a great quote (last two paragraphs) :

I just stumbled across your site while doing a google image search for images related to Robert Heinleins Crays Years.
It looks like you have what is probably a lot of good and interesting stuff on here but I cannot read it because the font that is used is small and very difficult for me to read. I am sure that I could change some browser setting to get it to override this, but since 99.99% of the sites I visit are perfectly readable I am just not going to mess with it. I tried with both Firefox and Chrome (both on desktop) and with both browsers the text was very difficult to read without unpleasantly straining.
Just thought you should know.

Hard to take you seriously as the person in 2019 you said you hoped to vote for Kamala Harris.
How did that work out for you?

I certainly don’t recall saying any such thing … can you point to the post where you think I did say it? The only post from 2019 that mentions anyone wanting to vote for her is a quote of the day post on June 20th, where Camille Paglia said “My eye is on the new senator from California, Kamala Harris, who seems to have far more character and substance than Warren. I hope to vote for Harris in the next presidential primary.”
