Best Way For Gluing Wood Together To Get Thick Pieces

More information in the website article – https://nickferry.com/2018/03/best-wa… including links to the wood clamps

Sometimes you need to glue boards together to make up thicker stock for table legs, furniture making & turning projects. This is the best way for gluing wood together to get thicker boards. Super simple but effective way to keep all the wood aligned while clamping just by using a parallel clamp and some F-style clamps. I find this method a lot easier than using cauls, salt or nails.

How to make a Seed Tray | Paul Sellers

Published 21 May 2020

Making seed trays is a simple enough project, but Paul wants to introduce you to two methods that he uses for his own, and you can choose which you might prefer or make two or more using these methods.

They take a matter of minutes to make and are great to make with children too. Paul has included methods that guarantee a successful outcome and then to longevity that puts disposable plastic where it rightly belongs, and that is away from us woodworkers.

I can verify that the Narex and Stanley Sweetheart chisels are a good buy, and perhaps the best money-for-quality ratio you’ll find in non-vintage chisels (and if you know enough about the relative quality of long-gone vintage chisel brands, it’s unlikely you’ll be buying any of the tools he mentions in this video).

How to make a Saw Clamp | Paul Sellers

Paul Sellers
Published 5 May 2020

It’s the small things that make our lives run smoothly, and making this saw clamp for saw sharpening guarantees vibration-free saw sharpening for life.

What’s not to like about a utility piece you made yourself from scrap without turning a single machine on too? Make one of these and you’ll be telling your grandkids that you made it 50 years ago and that you’ve been using it throughout your woodworking life!

We just thought we would let you know that Paul filmed this video (and a few more upcoming videos) by himself in the studio, and they were edited remotely by Natalie.

Our team has spent the last month or so working nearly entirely from home, which leaves the garage/studio free for Paul to use without increasing anybody’s risk from the virus.

Paul wanted to create some specific projects that could be made from scraps of wood using simple tools in order to encourage you all to make things at home if you can.

We think that Paul and the rest of the team have done remarkably well to create something uniquely tailored to the current circumstances, and we hope you enjoy this and the other upcoming videos.

How Sharp is your Plane? | Paul Sellers

Paul Sellers
Published 23 Apr 2020

So you think you can sharpen your plane every few days. I wanted to dispel that mystery.

Planes need sharpening according to how much energy you need to make it cut. Experience has shown me that most woodworkers push their planes to the very limits of dullness. It’s a pure uneconomic waste of energy. I put this together to say Sharpen Up!
