Overall, this is a pretty good little summary of the impact of the Beeching Report cuts to British Railways’ rural and suburban branch lines, but the viewing-with-alarm about the density of road traffic is almost note-for-note with a 1964 “Look at Life” film on the same problem but from the drivers’ point of view – Living with Cars and other videos from the 1950s and 60s. Some things just don’t change.
