World War Two
Published 14 Aug 2022The reality of war finally seeps through to the majority of Germans, and it didn’t match up with the propaganda. Meanwhile resistance is increasing, and part of that is a classic money carriers when the Polish Home Army robs a money transport.

Join the TimeGhost Army https://bit.ly/WAH_073_PIIf you look at WW2 from a media perspective, it seems like it really begins around now, summer 1943, and the first four years were just a nasty first act. In both West European, and East European film tradition, it is now that begins the final struggle against Naziism. In US story telling tradition the Pacific War looks a bit different, but largely there too the “great struggle” is still to come.
Of course, anyone following our series from start will know that the first four years were indeed major, arguably even the main years at least if we’re thinking of fighting Naziism, and the Nazis fighting humanity (and having the upper hand).
Spartacus intimates at the end of this video that that battle is over, and a new war is now begun — a war that in 2022 is not over judging by recent events in the Middle East, current events in Ukraine, and rising political divisions between autocracy and democracy in more or less the entire world. Is that a valid point, and if so, what does it mean for the relevance to present times of the history we cover?
