{"id":8790,"date":"2011-04-13T07:26:17","date_gmt":"2011-04-13T11:26:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/quotulatiousness.ca\/blog\/?p=8790"},"modified":"2011-04-13T07:26:17","modified_gmt":"2011-04-13T11:26:17","slug":"leaders-debate-provides-no-significant-changes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/quotulatiousness.ca\/blog\/2011\/04\/13\/leaders-debate-provides-no-significant-changes\/","title":{"rendered":"Leaders&#8217; debate provides no significant changes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I didn&#8217;t bother watching the first debate on TV last night, as I didn&#8217;t think there would be any purpose in doing so. <a href=\"http:\/\/cnews.canoe.ca\/CNEWS\/Canada\/CanadaVotes\/News\/2011\/04\/12\/17973711.html\" target=\"_blank\">Lots of people<\/a> seem to have felt the same way, as polling immediately after the debate showed little change in support:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>It was Stephen Harper&#8217;s debate to lose &mdash; and he did not.<\/p>\n<p>It was Michael Ignatieff&#8217;s debate to win &mdash; and he did not.<\/p>\n<p>A poll done exclusively for QMI Agency immediately after Tuesday night&#8217;s English-language debate shows that English-speaking Canada was, by and large, unmoved by the two-hour duel among the four party leaders.<\/p>\n<p>Asked who won the debate, 37% of those surveyed by Leger Marketing said Harper was the victor.
