He &#8220;persuaded&#8221; councillors that a \u20ac900 replacement based on Laetitia Casta would put an end to unfavourable comments about Marianne&#8217;s assets.<\/p>\n<p>A town hall employee explained: &#8220;It was making people gossip. Remarks were made, during weddings for example.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>[. . .]<\/p>\n<p>An old boy in Neuville-en-Ferrain expressed his support for Lamacque in a France 3 TV report last week, summarising: &#8220;People are stupid.
