It started the process that caused the final defeat of the German Army on the battlefield during World War 1. Many people falsely claimed that the German Army was not defeated on the battlefield but at home by groups that wished to see German fall. One person who helped to create this myth was German General Erich Ludendorff. He called August 8 “the black day of the German Army”.

See how this statement connects to the stab in the back myth connects to Amiens and the National Socialists in Germany.

OTD Affiliate Links

Forgotten Victory: The First World War: Myths and Realities by Gary Sheffield
https://amzn.to/3s2hmmq

Shock Troops: Canadians Fighting the Great War 1917-1918 Kindle Edition by Tim Cook
https://amzn.to/3QnDL7V

Thank you to the OTD’s Team Members: Jeff Rubinoff, Robert Rerecich, Meddy, David LaVigne, Brodie Shawn, Phil Bosworth, Susan Yu, derf85, George W Newman, S Harris, Audio Intelligence, Sheila Hall, Jeff Hubbell, sheldrake6

Affiliate Links (If you purchase any of these products or services through these links, I receive a commission that will help me to keep OTD running and improving with every video)

Equipment used to make OTD Videos

Blue Yeti USB Microphone – https://amzn.to/3D4l0iD

Razer Kiyo Pro Streaming Webcam: Full HD – https://amzn.to/3GWoQeQ

Zhiyun Smooth 4 3-Axis Handheld Gimbal Stabilizer with Grip Tripod for iPhone 12 11 Pro Xs Max Xr X 8 Plus 7 6 SE Android Cell Phone Smartphone YouTube Vlog Live Video Kit – https://amzn.to/3IqcNIm

Services

VidIQ helps YouTubers grow their channels with in-depth analysis of trends and stats from your channel.
