has come to merely mean &#8220;someone I disagree with vehemently&#8221;. The hollowing out of the meaning of the word is not a trivial matter. By trivializing it, we run the risk of trivializing the atrocities they committed. They were a murderous criminal organisation composed of careerist and opportunist men who would stop at nothing to enrich themselves with both power and treasure, regardless of the cost.
