While it is true that for many living in Algeria the arrival of Allied forces is a welcome change, such as for the Jewish population, for many little will change other than the flag flying above the land. Algeria is ostensibly a part of France proper, but there has certainly always existed a colonial relationship between the French government there and the millions of citizens who have inhabited the region for generations. So we ask you, was Algeria fully liberated?
