For decades, the film was one step away from being lost, with only poor quality and incomplete tapes known to exist, but a copy in excellent condition was found in a Paris flea market in 2015. Filmarchiv Austria launched a campaign to get it cleaned up and digitized, creating a fair bit of buzz around this iconic film of Austria&#8217;s interwar era.
