And that&#8217;s the vibe that resonates with me.<\/em>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This is what the French call <em>le horse pucky<\/em>. If we may be so bold as to speak of &#8220;the human spirit&#8221; \u2014 which is pretty heavy for a column starting with a professional wrestler \u2014 the 90s killed it stone cold dead. The human spirit can flourish in the most awful situations, but one indispensable requirement is: Sincerity. You just can&#8217;t be snarky about the &#8220;Ode to Joy&#8221; or ironic about the Sistine Chapel.
