Reading the untouched experiences was so absorbing and allowed for writing a bottom-up narrative. Something that didn&#8217;t make it into the video was the work of Chairil Anwar, a poet who died young a few years after the War of Independence. Dwelling about the life and death of the individual during the revolution, his poetry defied Indonesia&#8217;s antagonists.
