{"id":47281,"date":"2019-03-10T05:00:08","date_gmt":"2019-03-10T09:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/quotulatiousness.ca\/blog\/?p=47281"},"modified":"2019-03-09T11:30:46","modified_gmt":"2019-03-09T16:30:46","slug":"canadas-feminist-prime-minister","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/quotulatiousness.ca\/blog\/2019\/03\/10\/canadas-feminist-prime-minister\/","title":{"rendered":"Canada&#8217;s &#8220;feminist&#8221; Prime Minister"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the <em>Post Millennial<\/em>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thepostmillennial.com\/liberal-mp-says-trudeau-was-hostile-angry-and-screamed-at-her-because-she-didnt-appreciate-him\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ali Taghva<\/a> recounts the apparently awkward interactions between Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and outgoing Whitby MP Celina Caesar-Chavannes:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Prime Minister Justin Trudeau allegedly screamed at Liberal MP Celina Caesar-Chavannes when she originally informed him that she would not be seeking re-election this coming October.<\/p>\n<p>According to a <em>Globe and Mail<\/em> article, the MP informed Trudeau that she would not be seeking re-election around the same time as Jody Wilson-Raybould\u2019s resignation. <\/p>\n<p>She allegedly told the PM that political life had seriously harmed her family life, and in response, according to Ms. Chavannes, the Prime Minister grew hostile and yelled at her. Specifically, he allegedly claimed that the MP did not appreciate him, especially when he had provided her with so much.  <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was yelling. He was yelling that I didn\u2019t appreciate him, that he\u2019d given me so much,\u201d Caesar-Chavannes said.<\/p>\n<p>A full week later, Caesar-Chavannes attempted to approach the PM again, and once more was met with \u201canger and hostility\u201d before Mr. Trudeau allegedly stormed out of the room after staring her down, according to the <em>Globe and Mail<\/em> article.  <\/p>\n<p>Highlighting the cross-partisan importance behind Ms. Caesar-Chavannes public outcry, she finished her statements by noting that she did not drink \u201cthe Kool-Aid and then sign my name in blood to this party politics thing. Maybe politics is not for me because I clearly don\u2019t follow what the handbook says I\u2019m supposed to do,\u201d <\/p>\n<p>This <em>Globe and Mail<\/em> article follows a Tweet in which the MP publically called out the Prime Minister for his use of open leadership in speeches, while allegedly ignoring her. <\/p>\n<p>[&#8230;]<\/p>\n<p>Justin Trudeau himself has yet to publicly comment on the matter.
