In her latest column for Taki’s Magazine<\/em>, Kathy Shaidle<\/a> looks at the #elbowgate scandal in parliament:<\/p>\n

No, Trudeau\u2019s hissy fit was<\/em> profoundly unparliamentary, even for him. He\u2019s previously stuck out his tongue at opposition members. This isn\u2019t even the first time he\u2019s cursed in the House<\/a>. Again: Like father<\/a>, like son\u2026<\/p>\n

And \u2014 in any workplace beyond the Hill, perpetrated by any man with a poles-apart pedigree \u2014 it would be a fireable (and possibly criminal) offense.<\/p>\n

Most readers likely share my dismay that human resources has siphoned so much power from other corporate departments like accounting or sales, as our society\u2019s slow-motion sex change continues. But that\u2019s the world liberals<\/em> have created, so one might reasonably suspect that \u2014 ha! Had you going, didn\u2019t I?<\/p>\n

You see, Trudeau calls himself a feminist. All. The. Time<\/a>. And for those few who haven\u2019t sussed this out by now, that doesn\u2019t<\/em> mean he treats women equally and respectfully. That would be cwazy tawk! No, it means that, when he elbows one in the boobs, it\u2019s no big deal. Because his feminism \u201cshots\u201d are up to date. He\u2019s immune. See: \u201cClinton, Bill\u201d and \u201cKennedy, Ted\u201d for homegrown examples.<\/p>\n

Oh, and \u201cGhomeshi, Jian\u201d for one northern varietal.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve written about Ghomeshi<\/a> before: the women\u2019s-studies major\u2013turned\u2013minor musician\u2013turned\u2013major Canadian broadcasting \u201cstar\u201d and progressive pinup \u2014 until he was accused of slapping around his girlfriends. That case went very badly for the girlfriends<\/a>, but accusations<\/a> nevertheless persist that Ghomeshi and his fart catchers created a \u201ctoxic work environment\u201d at the CBC. One I was forced to subsidize via government extortion, and where his \u201cinappropriate\u201d \u201csexist\u201d behavior was tolerated and \u201cenabled\u201d zzzzzzz so sleepy…<\/em><\/p>\n

Alas for, well, this column, \u201cthree\u2019s a trend<\/a>,\u201d not two. But having no such professional scruples, amateur journalists from Victoria to St. John\u2019s gleefully reposted this photo of Ghomeshi and Trudeau looking chummy as shit<\/a>, along with an #Elbowgate hashtag and cheeky \u201cWe\u2019re feminists!\u201d captions.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
