{"id":27927,"date":"2014-09-20T12:32:49","date_gmt":"2014-09-20T16:32:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/quotulatiousness.ca\/blog\/?p=27927"},"modified":"2014-09-20T12:32:49","modified_gmt":"2014-09-20T16:32:49","slug":"can-you-trust-apples-new-commitment-to-your-privacy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/quotulatiousness.ca\/blog\/2014\/09\/20\/can-you-trust-apples-new-commitment-to-your-privacy\/","title":{"rendered":"Can you trust Apple&#8217;s new commitment to your privacy?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.canoe.ca\/davidakin\/technology\/gilmores-15-reasons-not-to-trust-apples-crypto-claims\/\" target=\"_blank\">David Akin<\/a> posted a list of questions posed by John Gilmore, challenging the Apple iOS8 cryptography promises:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Gilmore considered what Apple said and considered how Apple creates its software \u2014 a closed, secret, proprietary method \u2014  and what coders like him know about the code that Apple says protects our privacy \u2014 pretty much nothing \u2014 and then wrote the following for distribution on <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/David_J._Farber\" target=\"_blank\">Dave Farber<\/a>&#8216;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.listbox.com\/member\/archive\/247\" target=\"_blank\">Interesting People listserv<\/a>.
