{"id":18478,"date":"2013-01-09T09:03:53","date_gmt":"2013-01-09T14:03:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/quotulatiousness.ca\/blog\/?p=18478"},"modified":"2013-01-09T09:04:30","modified_gmt":"2013-01-09T14:04:30","slug":"the-only-movie-awards-that-really-matter-the-razzies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/quotulatiousness.ca\/blog\/2013\/01\/09\/the-only-movie-awards-that-really-matter-the-razzies\/","title":{"rendered":"The only movie awards that really matter: The Razzies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The BBC gives us the highlights of the nominations for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/entertainment-arts-20955355\" target=\"_blank\">the Razzies<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The final instalment of the Twilight saga has dominated the shortlist for this year&#8217;s Razzies, which single out the worst movies of the last 12 months.<\/p>\n<p><em>Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2<\/em>, which made $814m (\u00a3507m) at the box office, has 11 nominations in 10 categories, including worst film and worst sequel.<\/p>\n<p>Its stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are also listed in the &#8220;worst screen couple&#8221; category.<\/p>\n<p>Critically-reviled blockbuster <em>Battleship<\/em> received seven nominations.<\/p>\n<p>Among them was worst supporting actress for pop star Rihanna, who made her acting debut as a US Navy Seal in the film, which was based on the classic grid-based boardgame.<\/p>\n<p>Other notable nominations included actor-director Tyler Perry, who was cited for worst actor and worst actress &mdash; thanks to his cross-dressing role in <em>Madea&#8217;s Witness Protection<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Comedian Adam Sandler won both categories last year, for playing a twin brother and sister in <em>Jack and Jill<\/em>.
