They’ve been subjected to more “sharing\/caring” and “we are the world” propaganda than any group of youngsters since the Young Pioneers<\/a> and the Hitler Youth<\/a>, yet they appear to be shrugging off the programming<\/a> in double-quick time:<\/p>\n

Young Amer\u00adi\u00adcans care less and less about the the en\u00advi\u00adron\u00adment, pol\u00adi\u00adtics, and the world around them in gen\u00ader\u00adal, a study has found; even the idea of seek\u00ading a mean\u00ading\u00adful life is out of fash\u00adion.<\/p>\n

In the Amer\u00adi\u00adcan Fresh\u00adman sur\u00advey, the pro\u00adpor\u00adtion of stu\u00addents who said be\u00ading wealthy was very im\u00adpor\u00adtant to them rose from 45 per\u00adcent for ba\u00adby boomers (sur\u00adveyed be\u00adtween 1966 and 1978) to 70 per\u00adcent for Genera\u00adt\u00adion Xers (sur\u00adveyed be\u00adtween 1979 and 1999) and 75 per\u00adcent for mil\u00adlen\u00adni\u00adals (sur\u00adveyed be\u00adtween 2000 and 2009). <\/p>\n
