{"id":13143,"date":"2012-01-19T12:24:21","date_gmt":"2012-01-19T17:24:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/quotulatiousness.ca\/blog\/?p=13143"},"modified":"2012-01-19T14:42:15","modified_gmt":"2012-01-19T19:42:15","slug":"vada-a-bordo-cazzo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/quotulatiousness.ca\/blog\/2012\/01\/19\/vada-a-bordo-cazzo\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201c<em>Vada a bordo, cazzo!<\/em>\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It takes a lot to vault ahead of someone like world-class competitor President Bashar al-Assad of Syria in the most-hated person contest, but <a href=\"http:\/\/fullcomment.nationalpost.com\/2012\/01\/19\/schettino-becomes-poster-boy-for-a-berlusconified-italy\/\" target=\"_blank\">Captain Francesco Schettino<\/a> has &#8220;triumphed&#8221; in this, at least temporarily:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The coward in the hot seat is Captain Francesco Schettino, who infamously abandoned his sinking ship, the <em>Costa Concordia<\/em>, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded in the dark off the Tuscan coast.<\/p>\n<p>The transcript of his conversation with Gregorio De Falco, an enraged Italian Coast Guard, has made a hero of DeFalco and rained down contempt on Schettino. T-shirts with an enraged De Falco\u2019s command, \u201c<em>Vada a bordo, cazzo!<\/em>\u201d (Get back on the boat, for f\u2014\u2019s sake!) have been a big hit.<\/p>\n<p>In the latest implausible explanation for his behaviour, Schettino claims he tripped on the listing <em>Costa Concordia<\/em> and somehow found himself in a lifeboat from which he was unable to extricate himself.
