Things like speaking your mind on religious topics can <a href=\"http:\/\/news.nationalpost.com\/2011\/10\/22\/egyptian-gets-three-years-for-insulting-islam-on-facebook\/?utm_source=dlvr.it&#038;utm_medium=twitter\" target=\"_blank\">get you jailed<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>An Egyptian court sentenced a man to three years in jail with hard labour on Saturday for insulting Islam in postings on Facebook, the official MENA news agency reported.<\/p>\n<p>The Cairo court found that Ayman Yusef Mansur \u201cintentionally insulted the dignity of the Islamic religion and attacked it with insults and ridicule on Facebook,\u201d the agency reported.<\/p>\n<p>The court said his insults were \u201caimed at the Noble Koran, the true Islamic religion, the Prophet of Islam and his family and Muslims, in a scurrilous manner,\u201d the agency reported.<\/p>\n<p>It did not provide details on what he had written that was deemed to be offensive.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The &#8220;Arab Spring&#8221; may have ousted the head of state in Egypt, but it has done little to liberalize the common experience of life.
