Rearmament, shortages, debt, plunder, and autarky have pushed the regime toward a brutal logic: conquest is no longer just ideology; it has become the regime&#8217;s chosen answer to the crisis it created.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, persecution inside the <em>Reich<\/em> continues to escalate. Jewish tenants are stripped of protection, the refugee ship <em>St. Louis<\/em> leaves Hamburg in a desperate search for sanctuary, and Ravensbr\u00fcck opens as a concentration camp for women.
