It ended up supplying the British Eighth Army across North Africa, Italy, Normandy, and Burma \u2014 and Canada built more of them than Germany, Italy, and Japan built trucks combined.<\/p>\n<p>Almost nobody knows it existed.<\/p>\n<p>When Rommel captured two thousand of them at Tobruk in 1942, he didn&#8217;t scrap them.
