It then explores the collapse of Bronze Age Greece around 1200 BC and the long Greek Dark Age that followed, during which writing disappeared, monumental architecture ceased, and long-distance trade declined.<\/p>\n<p>When Greek civilisation recovered around 800 BC, it did not restore the Mycenaean world.
