Opening the door to arbitrary punishment

Cory Doctorow talks about why the proposed “three strikes” internet ban is such a stupid idea:

  1. Criminalizing everyday life and opening the door to arbitrary punishment. What’s not to like?

    At least Doctorow seems to get it. The items noted above are precisely why this is being pursued.

    Oh, and the whole bit about disconnecting large numbers of people and their families from political discourse: that’s a huge plus, too.
